Long Exposure

The latest challenge is "Long Exposure".
2/22/12 - 3/7/12
Two week challenge!

By long exposure we mean any picture with a shutter speed over 1/2 second. A shutter speed that would (normally) not be handheld, but taken with a tripod or a wall or a swing or a post.

Example:

That picture was 1.5 seconds shutter, with a slow (fired at end of shot) flash and a tripod.
I took it at Rail-jam 2007, hence the writing. Couldn't find a clean version.

Anyways, go at it. Lets see what you got over the next two weeks.

Heres the winning picture:
What was said about 'Gated':

Christine said:
I voted for gated because I really like the blue in it it embodies how winter feels to me and how the sun looks in it the other thing I liked about it is it has a sort of Edward scissor hands feeling which I guess is just loneliness but the photo expressed it well! And whoever did it this this vote should mean alot cause it means I didn't vote for my husbands so feel really special

Tony, cryptically, said:
I liked the light going thru there.
He then said:
That is the gated photo opps
Photo opps indeed.

Change of Times!

Hey everyone,
The Photo Gauntlet board members sat down and we've decided that Gauntlet themes will come out Tuesdays from now on instead of Sundays! This will give everyone the whole weekend to get a photo, plus it'll be easier for me.
So to be clear, photos will now be due by Tuesdays, and new themes will come out Tuesdays.
Unless otherwise noted. So check back tomorrow.

This means if you still haven't submitted for "Pets" you still have a chance.

In the meantime here's some other reading:
strobist.blogspot.com
www.pixiq.com

Remember to submit your photos like this:
Name (of Photographer) - Theme - Name (of Photo)
Example:
Ryan Keenan - Whats in your fridge - Chocolate, baby

Ps. Tell your friends about the site, and if they want to submit just give them the email: photogauntlet@gmail.com

Submissions for: Whats in your Fridge?

Rule Change:
From now on everyone should submit pictures to photogauntlet@gmail.com. Put the photo's Title and the photographers name in the subject line.

On to the submissions:

Vote using the poll in the top left.
Comment on why you chose who you did, so we can get better.

  • Click the post title (Submissions for: Whats in your fridge?) and the comment system will be on the bottom of the post.
  • For those that submitted, you are welcome to vote, just not on your own photo. That's just rude.

For those that care: Instead of posting the real focal length (eg. 50mm) Ill be posting the 35mm equivalent focal length so that its more comparable between photos, since we all use different cameras.
